 Gas answers must come first

Gas answers must come first

Those behind the coal seam gas exploration protests aren’t really asking for too much.

All they request is some environmental guarantees before the coal seam gas exploration keeps growing.

As the nation continues to strategically plan for future energy uses, it must also guarantee our other natural resources such as rich alluvial land and the water supply is protected.

Without water and fertile land to grow our food, there will be no need for electricity.

This is about creating a balance between industry and community.

If ever there was a need to set high standards in terms of protecting the environment it is now.

Broke and its rolling vineyards and booming tourism is a success story in itself.

This must be valued.

This weekend Broke will come alive with the Spirit of the Vine festival.

Those keen to exploit the resources of coal seam gas should come along, listen to the passion for the area and perhaps broaden the thinking on energy options of the future. There are always options.
