Locally the election hype is all over - for now - and the Hunter has chosen Joel Fitzgibbon as its federal representative.
Faith has been placed into Mr Fitzgibbon’s hands again and despite what will happen nationally, his representation at a federal government level is not new.
Mr Fitzgibbon has been in opposition before, for 11 and a half years actually, and has come through to deliver for Singleton in the past.
There are new challenges and new issues, but he has dedicated himself to delivering on what Labor has promised.
He wants to see the completion of the Hunter Expressway and wants to secure high-speed broadband.
Broadband is a big issue for rural areas and impacts life in a huge amount of ways.
Promises have been made.
Now it is time for the promises to be delivered.
Mr Fitzgibbon wants the mining tax and to see the billions of dollars of state and federal government royalties to start coming back to the regional and rural areas where Australia’s resources are found.
Singleton need infrastructure.
Singleton needs more homes, more shops, better roads and of course the By-pass.
Lets see what we get.
