SINGLETON will host a community forum to discuss coal mining issues on Friday.
Organised by the Hunter Environment Lobby, the discussions at the Singleton Senior Citizens Centre will provide an opportunity to consider future directions for coal mining in New South Wales and for community groups to determine policy ideas to be proposed to the state government.
“It is time to rethink the framework under which coal mining is regulated and managed,”said spokesperson Jan Davis.
The forum begins at 9am and will wrap up about 4.30pm.
