TABLE tennis maestro Jacob Dyball has made his mark at an international level with solid performances at the Deaflympics in Taiwan.
Representing Australia, Dyball has been asked to consider playing in the Asian-Pacific Deaf games in Korea, 2011 after impressing green and gold management.
Dyball notched his first and only win of the tournament against Kazahstan, a match he won 3-0.
Overcoming early nerves, Dyball was well within reach in his other matches against Germany and Japan, luck tending to sway towards his opponents.
His match against Turkey was a steep learning curve, the Turk competitor too good with spin serve Dyball was unable to counter attack.
Nerves again played a big part in his double match against Poland, unfortunately too many unforced errors saw the Polish team take advantage, winning the match 3-0.
Overall, the Singleton teenager said he was pleased with his first appearance at the Deaflympics with wonderful effort all round.
Cheering the table tennis star on were some members of his family including mum and dad, Janet and Mark Dyball, aunty and uncle, Karen and Clive Andrews, grandparents Kathy and Brian Robinson and friends Karen and Ken Byatt.
The group are due home tomorrow night.
