Fighter pilots dominate sky

03 May, 2011 11:04 AM
F/A-18 HORNETS will dominate the skies next week.

A month-long military exercise will dominate Singleton air space from May 11 to 13 from 6pm to 10pm when the Singleton army range will be the pilots’ focus.

The training will see the new generation of air warfare tactical leaders put through their paces as they take on the next phase of the Fighter Combat Instructor course.

Six of the Air Force’s elite fighter pilots have been selected to undertake the five-month long course.

As part of the demanding training, the students are required to hone their skills and knowledge, with the ultimate goal of becoming experts in the development and execution of complex war fighting skills.

Every effort has been made to minimise the inconvenience to residents during operations and ongoing support from the local community is appreciated.
