SCOTT Greensill will take up the position of Singleton Council’s general manager on August 3.
Mr Greensill was offered the position after the full council took part in candidate interviews on Sunday.
Singleton Mayor Sue Moore said she was delighted to make the announcement.
“Council is delighted to welcome Mr Greensill to Singleton and I am sure with his background and experience he will make a significant contribution to this community,” Cr Moore said.
Mr Greensill has had extensive experience in local government in Queensland as well as general manager of a New South Wales Council.
He has held a number of chief executive officer roles since 1995.
In a media release issued by Singleton Council yesterday morning, Mr Greensill was described as having a good understanding of council operations and the political requirements of meeting the demands of the community and working closely with elected members.
Recently, Mr Greensill has been working as a local government specialist for a Brisbane consulting firm.
Senior staff were advised of the appointment on Wednesday afternoon with the public announcement made yesterday morning.
