DISCO fever is making a return with Rotary Club of Singleton’s retro night fundraiser
The event is on Saturday February 11, at Club Singleton from 7pm.
The retro theme invites guests to come dressed in ball gowns and suits from the Singleton’s second hand shops and to dance to the music of the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Also included in the night’s entertainment is the Sideshow Alley, raffles and the best dressed awards.
The first time event is hoping to raise awareness about childhood and adolescent mental health in Singleton.
Club director Anita White said the money raised would go towards the club creating a website that details information on mental health, how to recognize it and where people from Singleton can access help.
Mrs White also said that she hoped the money could help Rotary to work with organistations and mental health support groups in the town.
“Mental health conditions are hard to diagnose often it can be mistaken for behavioural but it could range between anxiety, depression to bipolar and autism,” said Ms White.
Those who attend are encouraged to return their outfits to local Op shops so the event helps serve their cause as well.
Tickets cost $55 each and include a three course meal, tickets can be purchased from Vinnies Op Shop and Holbrow House or alternatively from Anita to make arrangements and book tables call 04 1728 4960.
