THESE three sleeping beauties are Singleton’s newest set of triplets.
The trio of little ones named Georgie, Immy and Izzy are a much welcomed addition to the Duhring family of Singleton.
Born on Tuesday, June 16 at John Hunter Hospital, the bundles of beauties were delivered via caesarean section, weighing roughly five pounds each and a total of 13lb 13oz.
The arrival of the triplets has kept parents, Lindsay and Andrew busy. The couple already have two other children, eighteen-month-old Frankie and five-year-old Archie.
While their brood has more than doubled, the couple say their biggest challenge so far has been telling their new daughters apart.
If telling triplets apart wasn’t already a challenge, Immy and Izzy are identical twins.
“It is a very, very rare occurrence in triplets,” said mum, Lindsay.
At two-weeks old, the parents say they are already noticing changes in the triplet’s appearances making their identification task a bit easier and despite the extra parenting challenges, the couple seem cool, calm and collected.
“We are just taking it day by day, every day will be different.”
With a contingent of supportive family and friends, the couple say there has been plenty of help since coming home to Singleton last week. The couple declared the most willing helpers to be their two eldest children, Archie and Frankie.
“Oh, the little one (Frankie) has been very keen to lend a hand at times,” laughed Andrew.
Multiple births seem to be a common occurrence on Lindsay’s side of the family. Her great Aunty Gloria Paget also had triplets, three girls Elaine, Suzanne and Julie Paget now aged 55 while Lindsay’s older sister, Angie has twins.
There are plenty of advice and tips from family and friends. Their help and support with cooking meals, housework and babysitting the two older children is something Lindsay says she couldn’t have done without.
Also, wanting to help has been Singleton Hospital midwife, Katie Vercoe, who also has triplet daughters.
“Katie came to see us at the hospital to give us some advice and tips,” Lindsay said.
“There is a Hunter Valley multiple birth association that comes to Singleton so we will definitely be joining when they get a little bit older.”
The triplets are granddaughters for proud grandparents Jenny Campbell, John Campbell, Anton Duhring and Bev Maude and great grandfather Malcolm Campbell and the late Beulah Campbell.
