Despite rain, spirits and spending in Singleton was high with shoppers grabbing the chance to get a bargain or two.
Over 60 businesses took part in Crazy Day cutting prices and setting up sale tables outside for customers to save, save, save.
The response from the community was fantastic with local business owners, in particular small business owners, thrilled with the support.
Participating in her first Crazy Day was Danielle Thompson, owner of Chocolate Delicious Footwear, who said yesterday’s trading had been a roaring success.
“It was one of the biggest days since we’ve been open,” Ms Thompson said.
“It was a great day. Lots of people got involved and the community certainly got out and about and supported the event,” said Ms Thompson.
Ms Thompson, who has been in business since November, said Crazy Day had given the local economy a much needed boost.
“We were flat out all day so it was definitely worthwhile participating especially given the current financial situation,” she said.
“The main street had a lot of people, even with the rain everyone still came out.”
Crazy Day is organised by The Singleton Argus and manager Vicki Caelli said Crazy Day had been another huge success.
“It was great to see local shop owners and staff dress for the rock and roll theme, there were some great costumes,” Mrs Caelli said.
“But more importantly it was fantastic to see so many people picking up a bargain and injecting money into Singleton’s business community,” she said.
Mrs Caelli wanted to say a special thank you to the 62 businesses who participated in the Singleton Argus Crazy Day event and looked forward to making next year even bigger and better.
