SINGLETON Heights Newsagency, newsXpress embraces change.
Against 160 stores around the Nation, newsXpress Singleton was announced as co-winner of the newsXpress 2009 Retailer of the Year award.
Recognised for their enthusiastic willingness to embrace change, the newsagency was seen to have terrific energy, seek out change and push it to the limit.
The newsXpress newsagency hosted the National Newsagent Conference in Melbourne in October with participation open to all newsagents.
Co-manager Jarryd Moore attended the conference that included the Gala Awards Dinner and said that the staff and their customer service was a strong component of why the newsagency was recognised.
“Our staff have been keeping up with the trends and without their willingness to embrace the new things we take on board, we could not deliver such a terrific customer service,” he explained.
“With such a large number of competitors, and not just newsagencies but other stationary suppliers, we have to maintain good prices and cater for everyone.
“It’s about changing things up, introducing new things and trying things even if they sound a bit out there to begin with.”
Co-manager Jeanette Kirk added that it was vital to moving forward in a business that managers were willing to embrace change and try new concepts.
The award recognises the performance of the business and the management’s dedication to offering customers as much as possible.
The conference offered two days of great networking with newsagents and an agenda that focused on growing stronger and more profitable newsagencies. This is the first year that the awards have been held.
