Search for dead Greta woman's husband

08 Feb, 2012 01:45 PM
POLICE have focused investigations surrounding the death of a woman at Greta on Monday around her husband, Darren Fishburn, 42.

Tammy Sindermann, 43, was found dead by her daughter on Tuesday after she walked past a shed on her great-grandmother’s property and saw her mother’s body on the floor.

It is understood the woman died on Monday night.

Police issued a description and image of Mr Fishburn to the media at a press conference outside Singleton Police Station at 2pm today.

Mr Fishburn is the only family member police are unable to locate and they say they have concerns for his welfare.

He is described as having a solid build and is driving a red Nissan Patrol licence plate YAE 923.

Detective Inspector Trent King, crime manager Hunter Valley Local Area Command, said a search was now underway in bushland around Wyee near Lake Macquarie.

The search involves police from Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley Local Commands with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad and the Police Airwing.

Anyone with information about the woman’s death or the whereabouts of Darren Fishburn are asked to contact Hunter Valley Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Detective Inspector King said police were awaiting forensic pathologist reports before confirming whether they were investigating a murder.

Strike Force Wintervale has been formed to handle the matter.
