Singleton Community Website

10 Sep, 2010 11:07 AM
WHEN the new Singleton community website was launched on Wednesday, few were more pleased or relieved than Year 12 students Chris Smith and Elianne Coffey.

The pair have spent more than 200 hours working on the project after Singleton High technology teacher Greg Norris volunteered the school’s services to help establish the website.

The project was kicked off in October last year when Singleton Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. put forward the idea and called for volunteers to help.

While Elianne and Chris can now focus on other things, such as the upcoming higher school certificate, Mr Norris will continue the school’s commitment to the website with students Joel Schmidtke and Kurtis Simpson ready to take on the role.

Chamber president Gill Eason said the beauty of the school’s continued involvement would ensure the website continued to evolve with new information and technology.

Mrs Eason hopes all community groups in Singleton take advantage of getting on the website and can do so online.
