THIRTY-three streets in Singleton and Broke will be resealed under Singleton Council’s Urban Roads bitumen resealing program to begin soon.
Nine streets downtown will be re-sealed including Elm Lane, Laurel Lane, Lavender Lane, Lilac Lane, Mint Lane, Pitt Street, Primrose Lane, Sussex Street and Waratah Lane however only some parts of the streets will be re-sealed.
Meanwhile at Singleton Heights, roads to get attention will include Alroy Close, Cunningham Parade, Deans Avenue, Dunlop Close, Falkner Avenue, Flinders Close, Forest Avenue, Geary Avenue, Gibson Close, Giles Close, Hayes Close, Marshall Avenue, Mercy Close, Mitchell Avenue, O’Halloran Avenue, Oxley Avenue, Sister Luke Place and Wills Close.
Streets at Broke to be resealed will include Adair Street, Archer Street, Cochrane Street, Howe Street, Nelson Street and Rogers Street.
The work is schedule to commence late February.
According to a report from author Council’s Brendan Behringer pre-treatment of the roads has commenced and is about 80 per cent complete.
Pre-treatment includes hand patching, heavy patching and edge repairs and is an essential part of the resurfacing program to ensure maximum wearing surface performance.
Roads were selected from historical data with Council aiming to reseal all roads at least every ten years as well as field inspections while others reconstructed in 2009/10 will get a second coat of re-seal.
