THE preservation of Singleton’s rural villages is something many people are dedicated to, in particular those who live in them.
Residents of Glennies Creek, Middle Falbrook, Camberwell and Bridgman Road are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss forming a local group to act on behalf of residents on various issues in the communities.
Middle Falbrook resident Graeme Cheetham said the group would work like a progress association.
“We held a social meeting last week and I put the word out on who was interested in having a group formed to go to different meetings or make contact with people on various issues affecting us,” he said.
Mr Cheetham said the meeting will also provide an opportunity to discuss the meeting scheduled with the Department of Environment Climate Change and Water, Department of Planning and Department of Health on August 12.
Mr Cheetham said the aim of the group would be to ensure there is a fair representation from the community when meetings are held as many residents in the area find it difficult to make certain times because of commitments.
The group would also work on activities or events to be held at the Glennies Creek Hall.
“To help bring a bit more vibrancy back to it,” Mr Cheetham said.
Mr Cheetham hopes that the group will also be able to work on issues such as roads.
Those wishing to attend, the meeting is being held at 7pm on August 10 at Glennies Creek Hall.
