Suspicious death at Greta

Detectives in the Hunter Valley have started an investigation into the suspicious death of a woman at Greta.

A 43-year-old women was discovered by a family member lying on the ground in a shed at the rear of a house on Wyndham Street, Greta just after 9:30am today (Tuesday.)

Police from Hunter Valley Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and determined the woman was deceased.

A crime scene was secured and examined by specialist forensics officers.

A post mortem examination will be carried out in coming days to determine a cause of death.

Strike Force Wintervale has been formed by local and Homicide Squad detectives to investigate the woman's death, which is considered suspicious.
