A NEW partnership between Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation and Newcastle based Yarteen College will create better pathways to employment for Singleton’s Aboriginal people.
Ungooroo and Yarteen have joined forces to provide effective vocational education and training for local Aboriginal people.
Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation manager Taasha Layer said the training would create better pathways because it would be specific to the needs of the local community and in line with job opportunities in the district.
The two organisations officially recognised their partnership on Friday with a memorandum of understanding signed.
The partnership will ensure accredited and non-accredited training is delivered.
Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is a not for profit organisation that provides programs and services to the Aboriginal community.
The organisation, located in George Street, has launched a new website at www.ungooroo.com.au.
