HOWE Park Tennis Club Championships will start this Friday afternoon for Juniors and continue Saturday if necessary. Senior matches will commence Saturday afternoon and be completed on Sunday. Entires close today, November 10.

Any players wishing to enter can place their name on the sheet inside the clubhouse or contact Jodie Horley. The draw will be available in the clubhouse Thursday afternoon or by calling Jodie Horley on 0458 019 462 or 6573 2430.

Sports Power Monday Night Competition

The new courts were in action and saw some close results across the board.

Thanks to Scott Daniel who filled in and won all 4 sets along with Will Debelak, Craig Horley and Craig Miles. Overall leaders to date are Division 1 = Craig Horley. Division 2 = Gary Cooke, Darryl Messenger.

Tuesday Ladies

Ladies tennis will be on again today and will continue until December 8. Any ladies interested in having a social please come along to the club at 9am Tuesdays.

Fusions Restaurant Tuesday Night Competition

Well done to Mid City United who were too good for Catch a Cab last week taking out 9 of the 10 sets. Much closer on the other side with Really Late and Always Late sharing the spoils on 5 sets each. This week will see Always Late with the bye. Substitutions are Julie Manning for Craig Williams, Zac Cameron for Marilyn Rix and Tristram Rouse for Ben Staff.

Thursday Night Competition

Round three was played last Thursday night in humid conditions with some players getting the opportunity to play on the new courts. There were some very close matches and the result are as follows:

Murphy’s Law defeated Wasted Nights 5 sets 45 games to 3 sets 38 games. Tightly Strung defeated Young Guns 5 sets 44 games to 3 sets 31 games. SPT defeated Print Gallery 8 sets 48 games to 0 sets 18 games. Four set winners on the night included Wali Alam, Bob Keown and special mention to Daniel Thomas whose name keeps appearing here each week.
