Bulls season comes to end

11 Sep, 2009 05:50 PM
SINGLETON’s Colts team bowed out last Sunday losing to Southern Beaches in their minor semi final match.

The team started well with a break and pass from Guy Shepherd to Mitch Bayley who side stepped a player to score the first try.

An infringement in play saw Daniel Bates kick a fantastic penalty goal putting the side in the lead, 8-0.

A few silly mistakes saw Beaches hit back with two converted tries before half time.

After the break, the team failed to get back into the match with poor decisions.

Nathan Hartcher scored a great try courtesy of a dropped ball from Beaches, which was kicked through from Sam Ernst.

Nathan showing his soccer skills to put it on the toe and score in the corner.

Daniel Bates converted to make the score 19–15 however Beaches scored twice to seal the victory.

Final score 26-15.

Although the Colts were depleted with injury and suspended players the team should be proud of their efforts.Congratulations to all involved.

Clayton Williams, Mitch Bayley, Jackson Lambkin, Nathan Brennan and Guy Shepherd had good games for the forwards while Ethan Adler, Daniel Robins and Nathan Hartcher all having good games for the backs, and Sam Ernst when coming off the bench.

Thanks to coaches Cal and Ernie for another great season, to our manager, trainer and zambuck, Mrs Shep, Marto and Shep and thanks to Kim, Simon and Brandon for helping out.

Good luck to Moses and Shep for the dinner on Monday night in Newcastle. Moses is in contention for the Anderson Medal while Shep is in contention once again for the Jack Scott Medal.

Don’t forget the presentation/ball ‘night of nights’ on Friday 25.

Tickets now available at the bar.
