Juniors gear up for big day

03 Jul, 2009 12:33 PM
THIS Saturday will possibly be the biggest day of the year with 25 games, including six crackerjack games on the international field, and no less than five local ‘origin’ derbies between various Singleton teams.

It’s going to take a huge effort from parents, particularly in the canteen to ensure the day goes smoothly. Parents are encouraged to come in for half an hour before your child’s game if possible, thanks.

The club will also be raffling a 2009 autographed Knights jersey which is sure to be a sought after item. Our under 6, 7 and 8 sides will have the responsibility of conducting the raffle this week.

Of course tomorrow is team photo day with Ann and Mel from Tomorrow’s Memories

Photography will be clicking away all day. Parents and coaches are reminded to ensure they have players dressed ready at least 10 minutes before their scheduled photo time.

Photo session times are extremely tight with no margin for error therefore anyone late will miss out altogether, sorry. Also, please ensure each player has correct money in the envelope provided as there is no change available on the day from the canteen. Although purchasing photos is by no means compulsory, participation in team photos is expected. Thanks for your co-operation.

Photo times: Under 6 Red (8.00am), Under 6 White (8.20am), Under 7 Red (8.40am), Under 7 White (9.20am), Under 8 Red (10.00am), Under 8 White (12.40pm), Under 8 Black (1.00pm), Under 9 Red (11.40am), Under 9 White (12.00pm), Under 9 Black (10.20am), Under 10 Red (10.40am), Under 10 White (11.00am), Under 11 Red (1.00pm), Under 11 White (1.20pm), Under 12-Div 1 (9.00am), Under 13-Div 1 (9.40am), Under 15-Div 1 (11.20am), Under 16-Div 4 (12.20pm)

In other news the rescheduled Round 6 wash out game that was to be played on Sunday (July 5) has been postponed once more following the Round 9 wash-out fixtures. The Hunter Valley JRL will attempt to play all deferred matches from rep games first before re-scheduling both Round 6 and Round 9 games that have been washed out thus far in season 2009. The club will keep everyone informed of the progress of the fixtures when information comes to hand.
