Outrights to JPC and Creeks

OUTRIGHT wins to JPC and Creeks in the Imperial Hotel First Grade cricket competition were highlights of weekend matches played in Singleton.

At Howe Park, Glendon continued their second innings which had survived three overs last week.

Wickets fell regularly with only Phil Holz 16, Wayne Price 13 and Scott Griffiths 13 making double figures, before a last wicket 46 run partnership between Anthony Bailey 10 not out and Jacob Herbert 34 gave them a total of 128 to defend after lasts weeks totals of 64 for Glendon and 69 for JPC.

Josh Rinkin took 4/54 from his fifteen overs and Clint Ratatagia and Dan Murphy each took two wickets.

Rod Luxford 63 not out and Shane Duggan 34 also not out took JPC to victory at 5/133. Luke Richardson also contributed 21. Scott Griffiths 4/34 stood out among the Glendon bowlers.

Resuming at 0/21 on Cook Park 3, and playing with only ten players, PCH were only able to make a total of 65 runs.

Daniel Oldknow top scored with 14 runs. Glen Cook 4/21, Warren Gillespie 3/8 and Mark Unicomb 2/25 were the destroyers for Creeks who had made 170 when they batted first.

PCH were sent back in for a second innings and this time were able to make 113 runs. Daniel Oldknow 35 and Brad Cooper 23 top scored in the second innings and Mark Unicomb with 5/27 from 15 overs was best with the ball for Creeks.

Graham Unicomb also took 3/38. Creeks went back in to complete the outright win and were 1/11 when the game was completed.

Ray White Real Estate second grade games were won by PCH, Valley Gold and Creeks.

Creeks and Glendon met at Cook Park 1 in what was to be a close fought result.

Creeks batted first and made 166 runs from their forty overs. Steve Unicomb top scoring with 62, Jay Dunn 26 and Shawn Burley 20 provided most of the Creeks runs.

Luke Gardiner 3/28, Mark Trainor 2/16 and Brandon Partridge 2/33 were best with the ball for Glendon.

Jake Daniels opened the batting and top scored for Glendon with 50 runs. Michael Cruikshanks 20 was next best in a total of 9/154.

Joey Butler made a return to form to take 3/24 for Creeks with the ball.

At Cook Park 2 JPC won the toss and batted against PCH. Playing with only ten players, JPC mad a total of 39 runs.

Best with the ball for PCH were Pete Winsor 4/13 and Dave Lantry 3/5. PCH made the runs with one wicket down.

Max Willis 20 not out and Brad Cox 16 not out achieved the required score in the eleventh over.

Valley Gold was again triumphant over their club mates Valley Brown at Cook 4.

Brown won the toss and batted and was off to a good start with Matt Maher and Mitchell Tanner 28 having an opening partnership of 39.

When Tanner was out in the tenth over, wickets quickly fell to see the Browns all out for 65. Jon Shaw 4/2 and Martin Goadsby 4/11 made life unpleasant for Brown.

Gold lost four wickets before the game was called off at 4/76. Grant Davis top scored with 29 and Steve Whittington 12 and Ivan Miles 12 not out
