The MAC Group lodged a development application with Singleton Council a fortnight ago to build a $101million temporary mining village on a 43 hectare site on Heuston Lane, three kilometres from the township.
The application involves accommodation for 1501 people, a range of service rooms for dining and recreation, a lap pool and convenience shop.
The perceived impacts of the development has raised fears within the business community resulting in the formation of the Better Future for Singleton Shire Association.
