Singleton young artists

ART works from two former Singleton High School students have been included in the annual “First Class” exhibition now on display at the Lake Macquarie Art Gallery.

Now in its fourth year the “First Class” exhibition was established as an annual event to celebrate the Higher School Certificate art produced by Hunter Valley and Central Coast students.

This exhibition provides a venue outside the well known “Artexpress” exhibition for the region’s students to display their art works.

Madylen Goodworth and Amy Hamilton, who attended St Catherine’s Catholic College, were very pleased to have their works included in the exhibition.

Madylen’s consisted of four paintings entitled “People Who are Crazy are Too Sensitive”.

Amy’s work consisted of 10 pieces of portrait drawings called “The World Could Be”. Both Madylen and Amy along with their art teacher Nina Ross and school, principal Brian Lacey attended the opening of the exhibition.

The 2012 exhibition at the gallery was curated by Tatiana Barisa and Ann Caddey, in consultation with Meryl Ryan and is open until July 8.
