THE sun shone, the frost had hardened the courts and a good roll up of four ladies and six gents took to the croquet lawns at Howe Park.
A total of nine games was played with four of these going down to the thirteenth hoop, meaning a 7 to 6 score.
Mavis and Marie had two wins each and Mavis came out top on totals with Daisy a close second.
In the gents Errol and Bob had three wins each with top honours to Bob and Barry on individual scores.
It is good to see more players attempting the jump shot and once successful they have no more trepidation in trying it.
The shouts of triumph from the court tell of a first successful jump shot.
Several regulars were missing on Saturday.
Our best wishes go out to Colleen who has been very ill.
We are looking forward to seeing her and Ivan again shortly.
Judith caught a cold from last weeks play in the rain and Miriam was called away suddenly for a family emergency.
Best wishes to them both.
