Bypass for Singleton facebook

MORE than 300 people have already submitted comments, photographs and video footage on the Bypass for Singleton facebook page launched last Friday.

Singleton Council’s economic development officer Salena Avard had hoped for 200 by mid July.

The response surpassed all expectations and is an indication of just how widespread the frustration is for those on the road.

The Bypass for Singleton facebook page was initiated by Singleton Council and aims to build a log of evidence to justify the need for a bypass around the town.

Mayor Sue Moore said a bypass was the only practical, long term solution to Singleton’s traffic woes.

The forecast for mining expansions and completion of the Hunter Expressway next year will only exacerbate the situation which is already at crisis.

Video and still photographs can be put on the site. People can also write about their experiences.

Those without computer access can supply their images or stories to The Singleton Argus or the Visitor Information and Enterprise Centre and staff will do it for you.
