Singleton Bowling Club Centenary Celebrations

SINGLETON Bowling Club’s centenary celebrations started with a bang over the weekend and will continue throughout this week finishing with the centenary dinner on Saturday July 7.

Last Saturday night was the bowling club’s ball which saw 120 people taking to the dance floor in celebration.

Sunday was all about family fun with a jumping castle for the kids and a barbeque lunch on offer.

While the Singleton Town Band entertained the crowd and barefoot bowling took place on the greens.

Inside the club, 60 players put their hand up for the dart competition on Sunday and stuck round for the raffles to finish the day.

Yesterday saw the provis bowls take place and today will see Witmore Enterprises coming down to have a bowl and lunch.

Thursday morning the barefoot bowls is on again and everyone is welcome to give it a try and enjoy a barbeque lunch afterwards before the men’s jackpot bowls in the afternoon.

Friday night Beatles Magic takes to the stage at 8:30pm for a free concert.

On Saturday dignitaries from the New South Wales bowling association and Hunter District bowling association will challenge Singleton’s finest on the greens.

After the games are out of the way the official bowlers’ luncheon will take place.

Saturday night is open to community who are invited to the centenary dinner with celebration speeches from 6:30pm followed by a two course meal and entertainment.

Tickets can bought from the Club Singleton and cost $20 each.
