MERE mention of the sale of the vacant land adjacent to Singleton Hospital usually sparks widespread furore.
But this usually happens when the threat is more imminent than that which the land faces at present.
No decision has been made on the future of this land yet but the state government is in the process of updating land use zones and Singleton Council wants public opinion on it.
If the people of Singleton want this land kept for special purposes to address health or aged care needs in the future, put pen to paper now.
If there isn’t a strong response from the community both Singleton Council and the state government will more than likely allow the land to follow the usual process which will probably see it zoned for residential development.
If you have an opinion, either way, write now.
Once the decision is made it is unlikely to be changed. The opportunity to make a point is right now.
Does Singleton need this land for health services or doesn’t it?
