THE wait is almost over for local do it yourself enthusiasts as Singleton’s Bunnings warehouse staff work around the clock to open for trading on Monday, August 27.
To celebrate its first week of trading there will be a grand opening on Friday August 31, which will entertain crowds with a performance by Reece Mastin.
Mastin will perform in the store at 7pm Friday before meeting with residents.
A fireworks display at 8:30pm will cap the evening off for residents who take part in the activities.
On Saturday, September 1, the fun will continue for kids and families as they can meet Bob the Builder during the day.
Opening celebrations will run until the following Saturday, September 8, with Better Homes and Garden’s Jason Hodges at Bunnings to answer gardening queries.
The 6000 square metre, 175 car park warehouse will employ over 80 local people to be a part of the team. During the construction phase a further 130 building jobs were filled by locals.
Some of the permanent staff are qualified trades people such as horticulturists, plumbers, electricians and carpenters. They will be on hand to provide residents with expert advice for do it yourself projects.
“We’ve been flat out getting everything on the shelves in time for the opening and can’t wait to get involved with the community,” said complex manager Debbie Elliott.
