Girls king of their sport

KING Street Public School’s open girls side put on a great team performance to defeat Scone Public School 3-0 last Wednesday.

Lexi Scott got a double while Sophie Fishpool was the other goal scorer for the blue and red outfit.

The King Street girls managed to hold onto the ball well because of their determination to win 50/50 challenges.

With possession in their favour the score could have been higher had it not been for the heroics of the Scone goal keeper.

The win keeps King Street in the Primary Schools Sport Association soccer knockout competition.

The victory against Scone was the girls’ fourth win in a row defeating the Singleton small schools team, Singleton Public School and Rutherford Public.

Their next opposition will be either Thornton or Telarah and the girls are back in training at school in hopes of topping their Hunter three region with a win.

If they win their next game they will face the winner of the state’s Northwest region
