Since gaining the showgirl title at the annual Singleton show in September Hannah Cheetham (pictured) has learnt a great deal about the competition as well as enjoyed meeting new people and using her prize money to visit Nepal as an aid worker.
Its been a busy time for Hannah who has now completed her architecture degree at Newcastle University and planning to head overseas again later in the year.
“I enjoyed representing my local community at the zone finals of the competition held in Rylstone it was great to meet all the other showgirls and hear their stories,” said Hannah.
“The competition is changing and expanding its no longer simply about agriculture its so much more and that is shown by the background and interest of the entrants.
“Understanding the needs and wants of your local community and taking a lead in local issues and having a sense of responsibility for your community are now all part of the competition.”
Hannah said using her prize money to visit Nepal with an aid organisation was an absolute fantasic experience and developed her passion for doing good in a community.
