The club hosted a massive 29 games and it was a huge success thanks to the huge efforts of volunteers on the day. Another massive thankyou must also go to the five Sponsors who made it possible for the boys to wear the awesome Pink Uniform on the day – Bulga Civil Mining Services, Singleton Old Boys, Comprint Solutions, CRJ Mechanical and Liedan Excavations.
Hamilton Insurance and Investment Services Under 6 Whites took on Muswellbrook and for many was their first time taking part in Pink Day, the boys wore pink sock in support of the day and looked great. They all had great games and are improving week by week, their defence is outstanding with some great tackling and their hard work at training is showing. Koby Fernance and Jobie Castledine were our try scorers but week after week all the boys are enjoying playing and having lots of fun. They are a great bunch of kids and each has his own loveable personality and they are an absolute pleasure to be involved with. Keep up the great work boys!
The Under 6 Reds took on Muswellbrook on Saturday. Tries to Nathan Dale, Axel Crossley, Kai Baker, Ty John Marshall and a half the field dash after the bell from Zac Foote to score his first try was a highlight.
The Team continues to amaze the coaching staff with how much they're improving each week. Well done guys!
Forysths Singleton Under 7 Red went up against the challenging Denman Whites lead by our captain Eden Hampstead The team had an outstanding game. Try scorer Riley Fitzsimmons scoring 2 tries and a conversion. Harry Rowe scored a try off the tap and young Mason Taylor also scoring. Team tackler Marley Proctor crossed the line and kicking his goal. Mason Konieczny also got one over the posts. Nate Hodge and Byron Ward both stopped Denman with great tackling skill and Josh Kellner always backing them up. Jacob Hampson steamed through Denmans defence and made them work even harder. Fantastic game team.
Bulga Civil Mining Services Under 8 Black’s – This week the black pups were dressed all in Pink for the Women in League round. These boys were up against Scone Red and everyone put a massive defensive effort in for the entire match limiting the opposition to only 2 tries. Special mentions as stand outs for the game were Paris –Dean Forbes, Riley Maytom, Ryan Jurkans in defence and Chad Pike, Julian Stewart and Reid Stamp in attack
Ativo Under 8 Red’s – The boys played Singleton White’s in a game of mate against mate. This was a tight tussle throughout the whole game with some determined tackling also. Some extra strong performances were seen by Tynan Everett, Bailey Symons, Braedyn Dixon with their ball running skill and Rory Barry, Zeke Spaul and Kane Hollis in defence.
Bulga Civil Mining Services Under 8 White’s – The white’s also donned the bright pink uniform for the Women in League round and looked the part up against the red’s. The boys showed a spirited performance against their mates. This game was try for try and tackle for tackle. Strong spirited performances were on display from Lachlan Molloy, Jack Ford and Harry Evans with strong hard running through the defence and great tackling from Naite Crawford, Oscar Blackwell and Rylan Cameron.
Under 9 Red pups played White pups in a very even matchup. Due to school holidays we called on four Under 8 stars for help. Tyler Ward, Julian Stewart, Riley Maytom & Cooper Meldrum all tackled, scored a bunch of tries and had an absolute ball, thanks boys. Our Whites got good service from Mason Hancox-Robinson and Sam Forrest. Blaiden Ritter & Captain Tully Wholert smashed it in both attack and defence, while Tyson Ayshford & Rhylee Jackson made yards every run and tackled all day. For the Reds Floyd Forrester charged the ball up impressively while Harry Campbell & Captain Ryan Young looked for the ball and worked non-stop in defence. Baylie Morriss never stopped working for the team and Gabe Stafa continues to improve and won the coaches "player of the week" trophy. Keep it up boys, Coach Gaz is proud of you.
Hunter Valley Hydralink Under 10 Red's battled Aberdeen in a tough game being defeated 30-12. Ethan Bourke went over the line twice and converted his own try and Oliver Paynter also converted one. Playing a couple of players short due to school holidays, thanks to Tully Wholert and Deacon Hampstead for filling in. Well done to all boys, your defence was great but Aberdeen were just too good on the day.
Oldknow Earthmoving and Haulage Under 10 White didn’t get to take part in this years Pink Saturday with Muswellbrook Gold forfeiting. The boys were bitterly disappointed and are eager to get on the paddock this weekend at Denman after a long 2 weeks off.
Comprint Solutions Under 11 White went out full of determination, to take on Singleton Reds, in cold and blustery conditions, in a good old grudge match at home for Pink Day. Player of the Day, Chris Fry had the Reds on the back foot with some great attacking runs, passing the ball out wide allowing winger Baxter Newberry to cross the line. Wyatt Gravenell and Oliver Berry were our other try scorers for the day, with Whites beating the Reds 14-8. Well done White pups! And well done to both teams, on a great game for Pink Day!
Automotive Services Under 12 Div 2 players convoyed to a chilly Kurri Kurri to play Kurri. Singleton started the game off strong with an exciting try by Jack O'Neil converted by Connor Godley however Kurri fought back with 3 tries in the first half. After the break Kurri came back with 2 quick tries, but this did not deflate the Singleton side. An accurate grubber kick by Jayden Hamson set up a crowd entertaining try to Kayden Forbes, converted by Josh Moore. A strong defence and attacking game was had by Alex Burri and a gutsy attacking game was had by Liam Fraser and Brock Jurkans. The overall score was Kurri 26 Singleton 12. A huge congrats to all our boys this week, their improvement was outstanding and it was great to see them all sporting pink socks for this years Pink Day. I feel a win coming Boys.
Michael Spinks Plumbing Under 13 Div5 side faced the undefeated competition leaders Mallabula who had narrowly beaten the Singleton boys earlier in the season. The Singleton boys started well with some strong defense and running lead by forwards Cooper Stair and player’s player Joseph Ragh, leading to Joseph scoring the first try. Further tries were scored by Brendan Chalker, Tytan Lord, Riley Purvis and Cooper Stair. The game was won late in the second half through a strong defensive effort by the whole side to hold onto the narrow lead as Mallabula continued to attack. Strong games were also had by Cayden Oldham, Ben McMurray, Preston Howard and Isaac Butler. The final score saw Singleton victorious 30-20. The side now sits one point behind competition leaders Mallbula on the ladder and will play Greta Branxton on Friday night.
Entire Concrete Under 16 Div 1 travelled to play South Newcastle on Saturday with an understrength side. A win was our only chance of making the semis, but it wasn't to be. It was one of those days where the harder the boys tried the worse it got. Souths had all the ball and all the 50/50 calls in the first half, but true determination kept it to 12-4 at the break, with a try from Nic Johnson. Souths were next to score, at 16-4 Kydan Howard went down with a very serious head knock, requiring a 15 minute wait for the ambulance to allow play to resume. Any other game would have saw the game called off but being so important we played the last 5 minutes. Our boys through everything at the opposition but couldn't get across the line. To add to our pain Souths scored a late one winning the match 22-4. Our best were Isaac Andrews, Nic Johnson, Kydan Howard and Matt Ferguson.
On Sunday we had an early 9.40am start at Harker Oval, to play Wests in a catch up game. We went into the match without five of our stars, and the stress we put on our bodies only 20 hours prior, we were always going to struggle. Wests shot away with two quick converted tries, but we clawed back with one only to let them in straight after. Just before the break we went over again to make it 22-10 at half time. Down on troops we fought on but were overwhelmed by a hungry Rosella pack, eventually losing 32-16, tries by Kobi Whalan, who had a huge game for us and back up to play AFL 2 hours later, Brady Frazer who had a massive game himself, and Luke Rees who converted two also, PJ Ling and Dylan Kenny tried their guts out all day and Connor Lambkin played a full game of quality footy.
Congratulations to Jessie Hourn playing for the Under 16 NSW Country side held in Townsville over the past week. We can't wait to have him back.
This weekend our Mini Mod teams are off to Denman to take part in the “Rise for Alex” round.
Good luck to all teams, play hard and stay safe!
