And the members don’t look like they are slowing down in time soon with their big 100th birthday party to be held next month.
At the branch’s recent annual general meeting the executive was re-elected with Linda Frazer president for the next 12 months ably assisted by secretary Adrienne Jackson and treasurer Laurel Willis.
In her presidents report Mrs Frazer said the branch now has over 50 members - a fantastic achievement.
Among the many events the Red Cross organised or participated in included their annual Call-in garden event.
This year is was held in town at the CWA Hall.
“Thanks go to Adrienne Jackson our garden call-in coordinator for all her hard work, to Susan Ginns for your vision of what could be achieved with a fantasy of flowers and to Roseleen James our publicity officer for all your hard work, “ said Mrs Frazer.
“I am looking forward to an exciting 100th birthday party and celebrations in August. I think there have been great achievements over the past 12 months.”
