Scot Leighton kept the night running smoothly with each coach being presented with a genuine leather “Old Boys” football.
Coaches were – Barry Burns U18’s 1964, Bob Bailey U18’s 1974, Chris Oliver U18’s 1984 and Gary Gardner & Steve Whatham U18’s 1994.
Roger Taylor took the honours for First Grade 1974 as the Captain coach Pat Kelly is no longer with us.
There were a few ‘blasts from the past’ that came and names that Greyhound followers will remember that travelled to join us including – Julian Bailey, Dale Merrick, David King, Robbie Nelson. Robbie bought his 92 year old father along as well – Jack Nelson.
Many memories were brought up from legends past such as Darby Hedges, Rod Moss, Pat Kelly, Max White, Jack Spinks to name a few
Chris Oliver kept the crowd entertained with a funny recount on his successful season as coach in the 80s for his boys, Hack Whatham had memories from the 70s.
The night raised $1262.35 from the raffle which will be donated to Youth Off the Streets.
They have also decided to donate the money made from the “Ice Challenge” to the Curtis Landers Road to Recovery fund of $500. So thank you to Scot Leighton, Dale Watson and Doug Spencer for getting icy.
