The annual event ran to schedule and thanks to the high school’s catering department the Singleton community was offered a delicious selection of sweet and savoury delights.
This year’s ceremony marked the 60th anniversary of the first Education Week and it was a very proud principal of Broke Public School, Kathy Nott, who welcomed the Singleton community to the special occasion on Tuesday night at the Singleton High School.
In her opening speech she eloquently articulated the purpose of the reception.
“Public Education encourages us all to achieve and realise our potential. Tonight is about the achievement of just a few dedicated hardworking wonderful advocates for Public Education,” she said.
Student leaders from each local school compared the evening and member for the Upper Hunter, George Souris also addressed the crowd.
