If you’re interested in “how to” books, lifestyle, travel or just a good novel to get lost in the bookfair has you covered but you better hurry or you may miss out.
The bookfair opened yesterday and is open today from 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm before they pack it all up and start the planning for next year’s event on Sunday.
“We’ll be happy if we can raise around $11,000 this week,” Singleton Lions’ Club president Mick McCrone said.
All the money raised from the event, that had been going for 12 years, is given back to the local community.
Before the public get their chance to rummage through the 10,000 plus books, the Lions give some of the donated books to local schools and nursing homes.
Books, cds, magazines and dvds range from in price from 30 cents to $2.
Entrance to the bookfair is on Bathurst Street.
