The PETs are similar to tablets and allow each player to purchase ten games at once and are proving very popular with the local Bingo players.
Singleton Diggers Club operations manager Michael Titow said the PETs are four times the size of the standard playing card making them ideal for players with impaired vision.
“Our club’s policy is to provide the latest technology where every possible and we have 20 PETs available for each of our three Bingo sessions,” he said.
“At first our lady players were a little hesitant as most of them are over 70 years of age but by the third session we had sold out of PETs they were proving so popular.”
The computerised system lets the players know if they are two calls away from a win and they are quicker and easier for players to check on all their games.
“It speeds up the whole process due to the technology,” Mr Titow said.
Bingo is held at the club Monday, 7:00pm, and Tuesday and Friday at 11:00am.
Commenting on the future of the Bingo caller Mr Titow said the club hasn’t yet thought about bringing in a robot.
