We were hoping to enjoy an era of squeaky clean government after the odium of Labor politicians best exemplified by Eddie Obeid.
Sadly this would appear not to be the case with the latest ICAC hearings resulting in two Liberal members resigning from parliament after they gave evidence they had unlawfully received pollical donations from property developers.
Earlier two senior cabinet members had resigned from their positions but remain in parliament and then of course former Premier Barry O’Farrell spectacularly resigned over receiving an expensive bottle of red wine.
This week has been a shocker for Coalition members in the Hunter.
Fortunately our local member will not be appearing at ICAC making him the only government member in our region not to have to do so.
In six months we go to the polls again and once again we will be hoping to elect a squeaky clean government.Time for political parties to change their ways to ensure they govern for the benefit of all.
