Over the years, the iconic Victorian Variety Bash has covered almost 100,000kms, raising more than $18 million for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
They left on a full stomach thanks to the Singleton Lions Club cooking up a feed for a lively and vibrant crowd.
Members of the club served up a continental style breakfast to the packed room full of interesting characters from smurfs to Elvis and some crocodile hunters.
During the breakfast participants received their final debriefing and event manager, Julie Baxter delivered some good news.
"The local Lions Club have donated the cost of putting on the breakfast back to Variety," she said.
The news was clapped and cheered with Julie adding the money will be donated to a small school near Glenn Innes "doing it tough at the moment."
A total of $3000 will be donated to Emmaville school to help them provide their six students with a serve of fresh fruit and vegetables each day.
Lions Club, treasurer Judith Langbein says it was an easy decision to make considering what the charity does.
"It is our pleasure. It is such a great thing they do," she said.
"They raise so much money and the competitors themselves have to pay for things like their accommodation when they make stop overs."
The Variety Bash arrived in Singleton on Monday night and hosted a talent quest at the Club Singleton.
It was an enjoyable evening but also an ironic one for the Koene family who turned up in thier smurf costumes.
Upon entering the venue they discovered the Club's Singleton Smurfs Jersey's and promptly purchased some.
Family matriarch Lynne says they will proudly wear them for the rest of the trip.
The convey are heading to Gunnedah for lunch and then on to Armidale for an 80's night to raise even more funds.
