Cleanaway voluntarily pulled its fleet of collection trucks off the road to undertake safety inspections following a fatal accident in South Australia earlier this week. The disruption impacted general waste collection services in the Singleton Local Government Area Wednesday and Thursday.
Cleanaway has now advised that red bins usually serviced today will be collected as normal. Singleton Council has engaged Solo, Council’s recycling contractor, to assist with clearing the backlog. Solo will collect red bins tomorrow from those properties that would normally have had their bins collected yesterday (Wednesday).
Solo will collect red bins on Saturday from those properties that would normally have had their bins collected today (Thursday).
Impacted residents and business owners are advised to leave their red bin in a safe place on the kerbside until it is collected. Normal collection services will resume with Cleanaway on Monday.
