Playing on their home ground in Howe Park the girls had a game on their hands and started well going ahead 2-0 at half time.
It wasn’t going to be that easy though a hectic second half produced six goals to tie the scores up 4-4.
The girls showed their skills in the two five minutes of extra time scoring twice and managing not to concede any more goals.
Scoring for the girls were Tess Orton, Olivia Barry, Reece Robinson and Sophie Clancy, their goal keeper also made some crucial saves.
The girls are now one game away from the state level of the competition taking on teams outside the Hunter level and are the first team from the school to progress this far in the PSSA competition.
The achievement is amazing for the girls considering the majority of the team don’t play soccer on the weekends and only train once or twice during lunch times at the school during the week.
The team now await their next opponent who is yet to be determined.
• Meanwhile King Street Public School have reached the semi finals of the PSSA Knockout Rugby League competition with a 6-0 win over Evoca Beach.
