The Ladies League Tag team have only the crossbar to blame for what would have been a thrilling extra time win.
A Sharon Schultz field goal attempt in the first half of extra hit the bar and despite dominating long periods of extra time Singleton were thwarted by Scone who themselves took two attempts at goal before the third sailed over.
At the start of the game Scone struck first scoring the first try before Casey Fernance crossed twice for Singleton to give them the edge in the first half. All the tries went unconverted.
Scone came out fired up after the half time break and scored soon after the restart to square the scores 8-8, a scoreline that stuck until full time.
The Singleton Reserves faced a stern challenge in Scone who showed their title credentials by scoring twice in the first half to take the lead. They also held the lion's share of possession throughout the half making it difficult for the red and white side.
But Singleton was not out of it and hit back with a Pat Ling try under the posts after he spun out of a tackle and burrowed under defenders to score in the second half.
A well worked kick chase try to Scone would stop the Greyhounds comeback though, they also went on to add a drop goal to their tally. The final score was 19-6.
