Cr Adamthwaite was voted in unopposed as no other councillor nominated for the position.
Speaking to The Argus Cr Adamthwaite said he was happy to be continue in the deputy role and enjoyed the extra work.
He was surprised that no one else nominated for the position and he would re-contest the position next year.
