The teenager leads C grade by 13 strokes.
McWilliams blitzed the field with a great selection of shots registering a scratch score of 90 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday.
Closest to him in C grade are Hardy Blasko and Jamie McWilliams, both on a combined total of 185.
Leading the way in A grade is a familiar name in Nathan Bagnall, who is chasing his 10th championship win.
He shares the lead with Michael Storey who was “Mr Consistent” recording a 72 in both rounds.
In pursuit of the title, in third place, is A grader Michael Kirkpatrick only one stroke behind the pacesetters.
B grade is being hotly-contested by Shane Duggan, sitting in first with a combined score of 160, Jacob Carey on 165 and Brad Gardiner on 166.
One of the shocks of the tournament is player-on-the-rise Ben Stokes exiting from the competition after failing to sign his scoresheet, which is an automatic disqualification.
“Scores weren’t so great overall in the field with a difficult dry course and stifling conditions contributing to some high scores,” Singleton pro Les Bennett said.
“And, this weekend is shaping up to have similar hot weather.
“Reports from the grounds were that several of the greens were extremely quick and bumpy making putting even more challenging than normal.
“However, it must’ve been the heat that got to the head of one golfer who decided to putt from the rough near the green only to smack the ball into a nearby bunker, whoops.”
The fairways and greens are set to get more water in the lead-up to the final two rounds of the local golf’s biggest tournament of the year.
