While all-rounder Impey had a taste of the top grade last season, team mate Turner is poised to make his senior debut.
“I’m a little bit nervous but looking forward to the match,” the wicketkeeper-batsman said.
“My goal is to keep my place in the team for the rest of 2014-15.”
Impey is keen to offer a few words of wisdom to his junior counterpart.
“The bowlers are faster and more accurate in first grade,” he said.
“The batting is also much stronger.
“However, it’s a good test.”
If playing against seasoned cricketers is not daunting enough for the teenagers, the pair meets an outfit which enjoyed a 57-run victory over Glendon in the previous round.
“Creeks is definitely the best team in the competition at the moment, having won back-to-back titles,” Impey said.
“It’s a big challenge.
“We need to keep them to a low score.
“And, hopefully, our batting line-up reaches the target.
“I’m confident we can go alright tomorrow – we have a strong young side.”
As for future aspirations, both are adamant cricket is in their long-term plans.
“I want to play for my state,” said Turner, who is a Singleton and Hunter Valley under-14 representative.
“I’d like to take my cricket further too,” added Impey, who boasts rep honours with the town and region’s under-16 squads.
