Now, That Little Art Place on John Street is putting that theory to the test, as part of The Big Draw Singleton 2014.
From this week until November 7, The Big Draw is giving everyone,
young and old, the chance to get involved and allow their creative side to flourish.
Singleton Council will host a number of events throughout the fortnight, with primary and high school workshops taking place with every school in the Local Government Area.
Singleton Library is also presenting two workshops, featuring Mitchell O’Mahoney; a U3A adults’ drawing class tomorrow and The Big Draw Storytime for the littlest enthusiasts on November 5.
To top it off, That Little Art Place is conducting the Peepers Art Awards.
“It’s our second craft competition of the year,” owner Lisa Bendeich told The Argus.
“We thought the Peepers Art Prize would be a good opportunity to be involved with The Big Draw.
“Hopefully, it will get the community interested.
“The competition is open to everyone.
“There’s a specified theme, which is peepers (human eyes only), and the work must be completed on the wood provided.
“People can let their imagination run wild. A cash prize of $50 is available in each category – adults, high school, primary and infants.
“AIE Optical has also donated kids’ sunglasses as prizes, and everyone receives a certificate.
“All entries will be displayed in the store until the end of the competition, which is November 5.
“Then local artist Dorothy Wishney will judge the Peepers Art Prize on November 7.”
In addition to the planned activities, everyone who attends Pictures in the Park on Friday, November 7, will have the chance to participate in The Big Draw and get their 'chalk' on at Rose Point Park.
