At the moment, the PAC process is inconsistent to say the least.
BHP Billiton got the thumbs up for its expansion at Mt Arthur but Anglo American’s Drayton South Project was knocked back.
Now, we’re awaiting another PAC decision, one which could make or break Singleton.
An affirmative result will provide the town with a much-needed confidence boost.
However, a negative outcome might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
So, there must be a few nervous workers out there.
And, until the state government and the NSW Minerals Council can work together to fix the planning process – and make it a uniform procedure – that uncertainty will continue for many years to come.
