But, tonight, the organisation will dive into a new era with the appointment of four captains – Elliott Earnshaw, Harrison Geale, Maddison Barry and Shanae Howard – for the first time.
“We’ve got so big this year, we had no choice,” president Melisa Geale said.
“We have more than 120 registered swimmers, as well as 25 Mighty Midgets.
“The numbers are great – we’ve gone from strength to strength.
“So, the club decided to name four captains.”
Singleton has also started the season brilliantly in the pool.
The club recently claimed the Muswellbrook inter-town meeting, just weeks after prevailing at Scone.
“We’re very happy,” Geale said.
“We’ve won the first two, out of six, Upper Hunter carnivals this season.
“We’re now leading the table by 119 points.
“Next up for our swimmers is the Coast and Valley Championships at Woy Woy on November 29 and 30, then a few of our members will represent Team Singleton at the International Children’s Games at Lake Macquarie early next month.”
If anyone is interested in joining the Singleton Amateur Swimming Club, head down to the Singleton Gym & Swim on Friday evening from 5.45pm.
The first two trials are free.
