Employees have been waiting to learn what the future holds after the Planning and Assessment Commission (PAC) for rejected a retracted expansion plan that would have prolonged the life of the mine.
PAC rejected the proposed Drayton South project arguing it would have too greater impact on the region’s leading thoroughbred studs Coolmore and Darley.
"We are talking to our employees today, but I will not be able to comment on this further until this afternoon," a spokesperson says.
The company's original mine plan was rejected in December 2013.
