Every December, the local couple pull out all stops to ensure their Wilkinson Boulevard home transforms into a Christmas wonderland.
And, 2014 is no exception.
Hundreds of lights, bright colours, a festive theme and a pair of well-known characters greet residents, young and old.
From Saturday evening, Mark will dress up as Santa and Leanne as Frosty the Snowman while their children also play a role, assisting as elves.
“We’ve been here six years – and we do something different every 12 months,” he said.
“It’s never the same thing.
“Once we put up a Bethlehem scene; this year we decided to try inflatables.
“The weeks leading up to Christmas can be pretty chaotic,” Leanne added.
“It takes two-to-three days to set it all up.
“However, we look forward to it every year.”
When asked why they go to so much trouble, the duo’s answer is simple.
“We do it for the kids,” Leanne said.
“While our children enjoy it, I think people throughout the community also appreciate what we do.
“We hand out lollies, while we’re in costume, and we get heaps of people stopping out the front.
“Some drop in for a chat, others ask for photos.”
But, the jolly pair are never short of merry ideas.
“At any one stage, we can have up to nine kids in our house,” Leanne said.
“So, they give us their perspective.”
