Mr Higgins will be relocating his practice four doors down the road, from his existing site, if all goes well by January 3.

Despite feeling a bit nervous about upsizing his business when most others in town are downsizing Mr Higgins said his practice had outgrown the existing premises a number of years ago.

“We had been looking at various options for our practice for some-time when the ResCo site became available and thought now was the time to make the move,” he said.

“The new building will mean we can offer more services and hopefully enable other allied health professionals to visit the town – something that is really needed locally.”

ResCo Services went into liquidation in August and, at the same time, vacated their rented premises.

Local real estate agent David Williams knew Mr Higgins had been looking for larger rooms and contacted him with an offer to sell the locally-owned site.

“We were thinking about knocking down the existing building in George Street and rebuilding but that posed a number of problems including finding temporary accommodation, so when we heard ResCo was available it seemed like the best option,” he said.

Mr Higgins has owned the Singleton practice for more than nine years and, during that time, he has grown it from a one man operation to where today four physiotherapists work in the facility.

The new location is nearly four times larger than his existing site, which means he will be able to have private rooms, an open gym area and hold group classes.

In the extra rooms, Mr Higgins is hoping to have allied health professionals visiting Singleton including dietitian, psychologist, podiatrist, occupational and speech therapists or even specialist medical practitioners.
