Hunter Valley Local Area Command is investigating two break-ins at mobile phone stores in Muswellbrook and Singleton in the early hours of Friday morning.
At about 1.50am, police were alerted to a possible incursion at the Optus store at Muswellbrook Fair shopping centre and upon attendance found the window at the front of the store smashed and a number of products stolen.
At approximately 3am, police were informed of a further break-in at the Optus store in Gowrie Street Singleton where they were faced with a similar scenario.
Forensic investigators removed several pieces of evidence for further analysis.
But, at this stage, they cannot confirm whether the incidents are related.
Police ask anyone with information on either incident to contact them via Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
